Management of HTN alone or in combination w/ other classes of antihypertensive agents. Management of Prinzmetal variant angina & chronic stable angina pectoris alone or in combination w/ other antianginal agents.
Caution in patients w/ hypotension, poor cardiac reserve, heart failure. Do not use in cardiogenic shock; in patients who have suffered MI in the previous 2-4 wk; in acute unstable angina; in treatment of an anginal attack in chronic stable angina. May increase risk of developing heart failure in patients w/ severe aortic stenosis. Sudden w/drawal might be associated w/ an exacerbation of angina. Dose reduction may be needed in patients w/ hepatic impairment. Do not administer during pregnancy & lactation, or to women of childbearing potential unless effective contraception is used.
